Mountain bikes

Cootamundra has a large contingent of keen mountain bikers. The town has its own track of about 6.5km on the edge of town behind the Golf Course.  Hot-lap events have been held here and it is hopeful that an organised 90 minute or 3 hour MTBA sanctioned race may be held in the near future.

The track is now listed on the popular Mountain Bike Trail website TrailFlix from where the GPX file can be downloaded for those with compatible devices. TrailFlix Cootamundra MTB Track  The 10.5km singletrack southern loop of the Jindalee National Park, along with the technical Pioneer Park loop (5.7km) have now been added to TrailFlix.

Currently there are a range of places to ride including Pioneer Park, Jindalee National Park ( aka locally as ‘The Iron Barks’) and Behind the Golf Course (which can link to Pioneer Park for a longer ride).

Maps of the Jindalee National Park trails both singletrack and firetrail are available through OpenStreetMap uploadable to compatible devices.  Follow this link for details on how to Upload the free maps to a Garmin 800.

Ask at Cootamundra Butchery in Wallendoon Street ( ask for David or Anthony) or at the Amcal Pharmacy in Parker Street for details on where to ride.

For those keen for a spin the Friday hit out will cater for any level – again best to enquire at the Butchery in Wallendoon Street for times and directions!
